Inlays

An inlay is a type of dental restoration used to strengthen a tooth that has suffered significant damage (e.g. a large cavity). At your first visit, we disinfect the tooth and prepare it for the inlay. We then take an impression of the prepared area and send it to the laboratory. Before you go home, a temporary inlay is put in place.
At a second appointment, we cement the inlay and make sure everything fits properly.
Inlays can be made from various materials; at Clinique dentaire Bossé Marois, we use porcelain inlays. An inlay is a very strong restoration that you can keep for many years if you take good care of it.
